Vista West Ranch Wedding
Jessica + Q had the most romantic Vista West Ranch wedding. We started at the JW Marriott where they got ready + had their first look. The new hotel is so amazing for getting ready photos. Jessica booked a large corner suite with tons of room + kept her entourage small. It was perfect. The threat of rain finally came to pass once we arrived at their Dripping Springs wedding venue. I’m so thankful they waited out the storm. Even though they were unable to use their first ceremony choice, plan B proved to be intimate despite the many guests. They were surrounded by friends + family who stood looking on while they said their vows. I actually think having people stand forced them to be more present. People listened intently. Guests cried along with them. It was really beautiful.
I love the modern style Jessica + Q brought to their day. The bridesmaids wore white dresses they selected themselves. So chic! As they walked toward my camera downtown, I felt like I was filming Carrie + the Sex & The City girls. The men were equally stylish. There is nothing better than a man in a fitted suit. No rented suits in this one. Take note, gentlemen. This is the way to go!
Jessica + Q skipped the wedding tradition of cutting cake. Instead they had an impromptu feeding of raw oysters. Q spent summers shucking oysters on Cuttyhunk Island. His old boss + crew mates surprised him with raw oysters on his wedding day. I’m happy I got to photograph this wedding at Vista West. It was truly one of the most romantic weddings I’ve seen. And I’ve seen a lot! Thank you so much for having me. I loved getting to know you, your family + friends. It was so wonderful.
