Boho desert wedding in Marfa with Maura + Yaniv
Boho Desert Wedding in Marfa
Is there anything more beautiful than a wedding in the desert? Picking photos for Maura + Yaniv’s wedding was almost impossible. Their love for each other shines in every photo. For such a large event, this boho desert wedding in Marfa was intimate and romantic. They did things their way. There were beautiful moments together + a day full of surprises. Maura + Yaniv’s first look might be my all time favorite. We took a few moments in Maura’s suite at the Hotel Saint George to photograph their first look before taking the largest wedding party I’ve ever had out for photos. It was hot + bright in the desert sun but we rocked it out. Huge props to the wedding party for being so much fun to work with! I have to talk about their ceremony for a moment. Jewish ceremonies are always beautiful + filled with tradition. Maura + Yaniv did something I had not seen before in a Jewish wedding ceremony. They circled one another together. In more traditional ceremonies, the bride alone circles the groom. We talked about this on our way to the desert for portraits. Maura mentioned their belief in an egalitarian marriage, one that offers more equal roles. It was such a simple yet beautiful gesture. One I hope to see more of in the future.
Okay, I feel like I’ve rambled enough here. I have to give a HUGE shout out to Lizzy who owns Magic Hour Marfa. This is my third wedding with her and she is by far the best in the business. Not every planner excels at both coordination AND styling but she does. I love working with her + you should hire her to plan your wedding! You won’t regret it.
Lastly, thank you to Maura + Yaniv for making me feel like a part of your family. I big puffy heart you guys!
